Condo Chat: Building Makeup Air. How it works and why it matters
Hallway Makeup Air is often misunderstood to simply bring fresh air into a building. In this presentation we take a deeper look at what Make up Air is, why it exists, how it works, why sometimes it doesn’t and how we can optimise it. Join me for an informational session to help gather some knowledge and understand why Make Up Air is so important.
About our speaker: Wayne Kavanagh, Frost Fire
FrostFire uses a patent pending technology in HVAC Makeup air units to account for air density changes that are otherwise overlooked. This saves our customers thousands of dollars every year. Reduces Greenhouse gas emissions and helps the HVAC equipment perform at a level that keeps the efficiency beyond what was previously thought possible. Built on years of field experience, FrostFire solves a problem people did not know that had.

Stacey is a technologist with RJC Engineers. Before finding her home in Building Science and Restoration, she worked in RJC’s structural engineering practice, drafting structural drawing packages and performing field review for buildings under construction. This experience has given her a solid understanding of a building’s structure as well as its exterior. Stacey is a key member of RJC’s Reserve Fund Study practice and believes in the importance of collaboration and education. Her experience includes investigation, reporting, designing/specifying repairs, and oversight of the restoration ofresidential and commercial building envelope and structural issues. Navigating Rental & Airbnb Requirements
Join Erin Berney and John Gilbert for a complimentary webinar series designed for Condominium Boards and Managers based on the challenges seen most frequently: people, pets and parking. This presentation will focus on people: the people who want to set up or use short-term rentals (STRs) and/or Boards who want to better manage rented units, whether long or short.
Have a legal question? Want to learn what other issues are plaguing property managers? Drop-in for a few minutes to ask a question or stay for the full hour and hear the discussion. Your questions guide the session and Erin and John provide their legal perspectives.
On November 15 we will discuss the timely and evolving topic of STRs in condominium properties. Many condos can and should accommodate STRs, but others need guidance on restricting them and addressing non-compliance.
How can you interpret your existing bylaws related to STRs?
What bylaw amendments can you implement to manage or restrict STRs?
What local regulations and legal obligations should owners and tenants be aware of regarding STRs and long-term leases?
What steps can you take when short-term rentals occur in violation of bylaws?
Who should attend? This session is designed for Condominium Boards and Managers or anyone involved in renting condominium properties.

Elevator 101
Curious about how your condo’s elevators are maintained? Join us for a fun and friendly session where we break down the Alberta condo regulations around elevator maintenance. We’ll talk about the rules that keep elevators safe and running smoothly, including the required maintenance and how costs are covered.
