The Association of Condominium Managers of Alberta
2024-25 Initiatives
Education
In addition to continuing to support the next Annual Condominium and Real Estate Conference, ACMA will be renewing its efforts to provide province wide learning opportunities, and with an increased focus on collaboration with other groups to ensure the existing opportunities are promoted to a larger audience.
To support the education of managers, boards and owners, ACMA is happy to promote other group’s opportunities as well. If you would like to have your event added to the Events calendar on our site, please contact Info@ACMAlberta.com.
Special Resolutions - Completed
The last ACMA Annual General Meeting took place on May 15th, 2024. With a renewed membership and a new board of directors the ACMA membership is completed a special resolution to:
Realign initiatives with ACMA mission and vision statements.
Significantly reducing the costs of the society to reduce or eliminate barriers to membership.
Realigning the membership fee structure, the sponsorship opportunities and the services provided with the new budget.
Code of Ethics Update - Completed
The code of ethics was revised by the board of directors - largely to simplify it and distill it down to the core commitments of licensees and other parties that wish to add value to the industry.
Revival of Society - Completed
Over the course of several years ACMA transitioned administrative staff however one item that lingered untended for a very long time was the filing of society status and financials with Service Alberta. We’re happy to announce after quite a bit of back and forth with Service Alberta that our society is in good standing, bringing the filing from 2017 to 2024 and completing the Articles of Revival to ensure that ACMA remains a legitimate entity.
You can find ACMA’s filing under corporate access number 507354868.
What’s Next?
With the structure of ACMA updated - the Board of Directors is now consulting on what the vision of ACMA should be in the current industry climate - and how we can realign our Mission and Vision statements to that purpose. We are launching a quick 5 minutes Survey for that purpose. While the changers made by the membership at the last AGM were profound, they were only foundational to re-allign the society on paper to what it was in actuality.
This next iteration will require more membership engagement as it will fundamentally shape the initiatives and impact of ACMA for the years to come.
In addition to that, ACMA has a more profound offering to members and the board of directors is now comfortable launching a 2025 sponsorship campaign to fund the greatly reduced budget. If you are interested in helping us to fund a $0 fee membership structure we would love to have your support. Sponsorship is simple - limited to a $500 commitment for a year’s worth of recognition on all ACMA media and materials. Please visit the the sponsorship page to learn more.
